Born in England in November 1968, Kelly Roberts and her family moved to Canada during the 70’s. She was brought up with a Catholic background, attending elementary and Catholic high schools. While she is no longer a practicing Catholic, she still has very strong spiritual beliefs.

Over the years, Kelly has tried out a number of different things. During her early high school years she developed an interest in computers. This, however, was shortly eclipsed when she discovered the musical theater.

Kelly perused this love of the theater throughout high school, with the intention of attempting a career in the field. She worked for 2 years while trying to get into a college program, and finally succeeded.

Sadly, it wasn't what she expected.

Up to this point in her life, virtually all of Kelly's theatrical experience had been at the high school level. She had the talent (most notably what her instructors called an "exceptional" voice) but had little experience in the "real world" of the theater. In college she learned quite a lot about acting, singing, and dancing, but she also learned that talent alone was not enough to succeed. In those days, who you knew (and who liked or didn't like you) was even more important to your success than your ability. Because of this, Kelly became disillusioned with the field, and left.

The next several years were quite unremarkable. Kelly took a job in the food service industry, and while she was quite adept, it wasn't what she wanted to do with her life. She spent those years doing little more than working, along with drifting around trying to figure out what she planned to do with herself.

Kelly eventually came full circle in her interests, and went back to college, this time in an electronic engineering program. This is yet another career Kelly decided not to pursue, although for different reasons than with musical theater.

For most of Kelly's adult life, she has very much enjoyed writing. No matter what else she's done, from the theater through working through electronic engineering, she's always made time for her writing. It was while she was attending college the second time that she realized she has enough talent to attempt to earn her living in this way.

When she came to this realization, Kelly decided to leave college. She is currently (again) working in the foodservice industry, although this time it's simply a means to an end. The job simply pays her bills, allowing her enough spare time to focus on her first love, her writing. While she isn't published yet, she hopes to change this in the near future.
